Despite heavy overnight rain, cold temperatures and area flooding, an estimated 1,000 locals who had planned to traverse a 3-mile course outside New Trier’s Northfield campus and surrounding forest preserve instead gathered inside the high school’s gymnasium at 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 30, to rally support for the North Shore Autism Speaks Walk.
