It was a Wednesday evening and about 16 parents of first-graders were in school.
The group was standing in an Avoca West music classroom with a violin in hand learning the parts of a violin and how to properly hold it.
Formally called “Beginning Parent Suzuki Class,” it was being held for parents of beginning string students at the Avoca District 37’s West School in Glenview. A similar class was held the previous week for another group of parents.
